2 Use of Depraved and Abusive Language by Everyone and Everywhere

Introduction

I had no intention of writing this portion in greater detail reproducing abusive words, but I had to do it perforce, the last event coming to my notice, circulated and enjoyed so widely, treated just like another manifestation of our “mirasi” culture, so dear to us. I am doing no more than reproducing, word for word, (where necessary a translation of it) all that is available in print and is in circulation now world over.

From the book in Urdu “Jaeeza” by Late KMA Samdani, also called ‘sufi judge’, published by Sang-e-Meel Publications(2004 Page 95)

During the course of an argument, the Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court misbehaved with me. I could have replied in the same coin shutting his mouth, but I feared that he will punish my client for that so “Khoon ka ghoont pi kar chup raha.” Soon he retired and encountered me in a flight. He extended his hand of greeting I refused to respond to it. I met him many times but refused to talk to him. Soon thereafter my younger daughter came from America and said: “Baba, life is short to bear grudges”. Thereafter I reestablished contact with him. If vanity does not come in the way a man can learn a lot from children. My daughter taught me a great lesson of morality”

From the book “Of all those Years” by MAK Chaudhry, Classic Publishers (2006 Page 35)

“Chaudhry Sahib, spoke the Post Master General, once the inspection was over, I am more than pleased with the working of your division. But there is one small matter which I am frightfully embarrassed to mention: I have heard a complaint that when addressing your staff, you tend to use insulting language all too frequently.”

Safdar retorted indignantly, “Sir this is the most frivolous complaint. I have never cursed any member of my team……  (then turning to his Superintendent) …O Allah Bux O son of a dog have I ever sworn at you”

“No sir”, said Allah Bux, “never”

Safdar then called the next senior officer and asked, “You dirty pig, have I used any insulting word against you?”

“No”, replied the man

Suddenly the entire office lined up before the Post Master General and spoke up “Sir, this is not an office it is a family and Chaudhry Safdar Ali is our head – these words of so-called abuse are nothing but terms of endearment. The Post Master General tore up the letter of complaint, apologized to Safdar and left, a broad grin on his face.

From the book “Benazir Bhutto, the favored daughter” by Brook Allan (2016 Page 40)

ZA Bhutto calling Chief of Army of his own choice “Ziaul Muck or Cobra Eyes, where is my monkey General, come over here monkey”.

From the book “Role of Judiciary in the Constitutional crisis of Pakistan” by late Justice K.M.A. Samdani (Page189)

“As Law Secretary Federal Government, I had to attend the meeting called by CMLA on 1.4.1980—-All secretaries present in Islamabad attended the meeting. In fact all the Cabinet Ministers (some of them serving Generals) attended the meeting—he started the meeting by asserting that rightly or wrongly he was the President and as such his order, should be carried out without demur—I would like to strip the secretaries naked and hang them upside down—when no secretary showed courage enough to utter a word of protest, I had to speak up. So, I told the CMLA that there was a world of difference being President rightly and President wrongly. The latter position was like being on a weak wicket which weakness ought to be realized. However I concluded by saying that I would also like to see a couple of generals hung by their ankles with their pants off and the rest of it.—-I refused to apologize too . Consequently, our private meeting ended in an impasse and we parted company.

A shocking utterance of an upcoming political leader appearing in the Media.

An upcoming political leader who brought glory for himself and the nation in the global field of cricket, on entering the political arena, called “phatecher” (wretched, rag)   cricketers coming from abroad to support and to rescue our cricket. This, at a critical stage, when our own people called “The Most Dangerous Place – Pakistan, Lawless Frontier” (Author Imtiaz Gul), “Pakistan Dropping Off the Map (Author Abdur Rashid). Of all the sports, cricket has been known as a game of gentlemen, symbolized by a shining all white spotless dress with all the dignity, grace going with these. Shall I take it to be another addition to our anecdotal record so proudly repeated inside the country and outside, that we pull down the leg of others in order to keep our own head high.

Wisdom Attributed to Hazrat Ali.

Hazrat Ali is reputed to have said that money, power, and authority do not change a man but they only show his true self.

Parvez Hassan – a Senior Advocate speaks (‘Right to fair trial’ Dawn Karachi 6th July 2017)

“Judicial decorum enhances the majesty of the law but when indecorous remarks as `mafia`, throw them out of the window`, trash them in the dustbin`, `chacha mamas`, `paper good only for selling pakoras` are made, it lowers the pedestal of justice and undermines the basic requirements of a fair trial.
